My first week on the job is over and for the most part it was great. I still don't have a computer but that is being worked on. I spent the whole week reading reports and technical documents, going to meetings and trainings, but I learned so much. I really do feel that this job is going to be right for me. All the people I work with are welcoming me with open arms and it is wonderful and refreshing. I now work in a place that I don't have to watch what I say and have no fear of being judged.
My life outside of work is also working out well. Yesterday my husband and I receive the quote for the roof and it is going to cost $4300 to completely fix the roof. (Not bad when we thought it was going to cost $6000.) I am hoping that I can get our roof fixed within the next two weeks. Now we just need to work out what we will do with the rest of the $11000. Unfortunately, we have at least a few weeks to think about it. It is going to take at least a few weeks to cash out my 401K.
Girl, I'm so happy for you. You seem so much happier in general since you got your new job. It must feel good! I'm happy the roof isn't going to cost as much as you thought, that is some great news! YAY, more money to fix the house! Wahhhoooo!
