No matter how hard we try, time keep moving on.
So today I paid half the cost to fix my roof, but it will probably be 2 weeks be for the can start the repair. The good news is it will only take 3 to 4 days to completely and if the weather gets bad they will cover my whole roof in plastic. After the roof is done I have added another repair, to the ever growing list, we will be rebuilding the back steps. I am so sick of falling one them. My ankle still is so sore from falling on them this weekend and I still have the scare from a year and a half ago.
As for work things are still going great. I have a company BBQ tomorrow to break ground on a new office building they are building. Things are going well and I am settling in. I am also well on my way to becoming a world class Wiki coder (have I mentioned I really don't like coding). I have coded so many Wiki pages in the last week that it is not even funny.
I have also decided that I will be taking a semester off. So many things going on at once I could use time to breath, and I have not had more than a couple days off from school in two years.

Two Weeks and Counting
I have official just finished my second week at work, and guess what, I still love it. My "boss" is a little crazy and I have been spending the better part of this week coding (I hate programming), but I love it. I have been learning so much, I really feel wanted, it is truly great.
As far as the house, I have hit a little stand still. I am waiting for the checks from my checking account to come in so that I can pay the first half of my roof. So hopefully it won't really rain for another week or so, and then it can rain all it wants. Once the roof has been fixed then we move on to replacing the back door.
I have also been looking forward (over 3 weeks) to getting my new phone. It was suppose to be here on the 23rd, but that didn't happen. I have been going around and round with Verizon for the last 2 days to find out what happened. Apparently, the company that makes my phone delayed the shipment. I just got an email saying that my phone has been mailed and should be here Tuesday, we will see.

One Week Down
My first week on the job is over and for the most part it was great. I still don't have a computer but that is being worked on. I spent the whole week reading reports and technical documents, going to meetings and trainings, but I learned so much. I really do feel that this job is going to be right for me. All the people I work with are welcoming me with open arms and it is wonderful and refreshing. I now work in a place that I don't have to watch what I say and have no fear of being judged.
My life outside of work is also working out well. Yesterday my husband and I receive the quote for the roof and it is going to cost $4300 to completely fix the roof. (Not bad when we thought it was going to cost $6000.) I am hoping that I can get our roof fixed within the next two weeks. Now we just need to work out what we will do with the rest of the $11000. Unfortunately, we have at least a few weeks to think about it. It is going to take at least a few weeks to cash out my 401K.

Random Thoughts
I fully believe that people who write technical documents are paid by the word. The bigger the word the more it is worth. Also if it is so confusing that no one understands it they get a big bonus.
I also believe that all math equations are thought up by a hermit that lives in the middle of the woods somewhere. He lives alone and lives off the land. He has nothing better to do than figure out complicated and useless mathematical equations that no one really needs because he has no friends.

Life rolls on
So in the latest installment of my “new” life…
I started my new job two days ago and it is going great. I don’t actually have a computer yet put I have been reading none stop and I have been learning a lot. In addition to liking the task, I love the people that I am working with and for. These people are looking out for me; they are making me feel welcome, and treating me like I belong. Hopefully I will have a computer by the end of the week, but that is not stopping me. I have an all day meeting tomorrow about my new task and I participated in a round table discussion about another task today.
In addition to the job, I have decided to cash out my 401K for my old job to make home improvements. (I just have to call and talk to the company.) I will be getting around $6,000 from that and my parents are giving my husband and me $5,000 for any and all gifts until next year. (I have the best parents in the world.) That will give my husband and me $11,000 to do home improvements, and my house needs it. We have a list a mile long of things to do and on the top of that list is a new roof and back door. We are also going to be how many more projects we can get done to include: new windows, new flooring, redoing the whole bathroom, painting everything, new fans, and a couple more projects.
I am surviving school and cannot wait for this last class from this school to be done. I have one more week but I think that week will never end. I am hoping that this new school will be better, but I will have to wait and see.
With all that said, I feel that life is moving in a really good direction.

The New Me
Starting Monday I will start a new job (my second new job in a month, but that is besides the point) and I will be starting a new school within the next month. This job will be with a new company, come with benefits, and get my foot back in the door of the IT world. With this new job I want to create a new me. I want to create the me that I want to be, the me that I will be proud of being, the me that will make me happy. I want to work on being a better wife, a healthier person, an organized person, and a better friend. For years I have fought who I really am and it is time for me to be who I really am.
Today I had a talk (argument) with my husband. We both came to the conclusion that we need to work on improving ourselves and our relationship. (It is not really uncommon. When we don't talk to one another everything builds up and all comes out at once. We argue for little while and then talk everything out and we are fine. Now if only we can talk from the beginning.) We have become so wrapped up in our jobs and school that we have forgot to take care of ourselves and each other. We need to learn to put ourselves and each other before the rest of the world.
I feel that this is the perfect time to start working on improving myself and my relationships. I want to clean my whole house and keep it clean. I want to start eating right and working out. I want to take care of myself. But most of all I want to spend some much needed time with my husband.
I have so many things that I want to do and what better time than now. Wish me luck.
